Stonemasonry

Chip, chip, chip, chip, chip.....
Manjushri Kadampa Buddhist Temple

After my Navigation Cadetship, I really wanted to learn a land trade that people have been doing for millennia. I looked into blacksmithing and stonemasonry and found no smithing opportunities nearby but a stonemasonry company who were recruiting. I made the phonecall, got an interview, got the job. My time was spent between York, Durham and Newcastle. During this time we made and/or fixed  watermills, Buddhist temples (pictured above), church tracery window, basic stone walling, fireplaces, stone chimneys, railway stations plus loads of other things. All faces completed were correct within 1mm.
